Desktop Model: In the stand-alone desktop model the shredded debris is automatically collected in a 1 Gallon (5 Litre) drawer accessed from the front of the unit. The drawer simply slides out so the waste can be tipped into a suitable container. The drawer has a clear viewing window allowing the operator to check the waste level at any time.
The MediaGone 500 from VS Security Products is a flash media shredder suitable for use in any office environment. The MediaGone 500 shredder can shred a wide variety of flash media safely and easily. In addition to SSD's, the MediaGone can also destroy USB sticks, memory cards, NVMe M.2 drives, optical media (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray) and smartphones with the push of a button.
The MediaGone 500 shredder offers two settings; "coarse" and "fine". With the "fine" setting, the MediaGone 500 shreds media into particles averaging 4 x 15 mm and thus offers DIN 66399 / ISO 21964 Security Levels E-4, T-4 and O-4. The transparent polycarbonate dome and internal LED lighting allow users to safely monitor SSD's, flash drives, opticals or phones being destroyed. Operating the MediaGone 500 shredder is easy using the LCD touchscreen. The user has access to all functions and settings of the shredder via the touchscreen.
The MediaGone 500 can be supplied as a tabletop model or optionally with a specially designed trolley for easy movement. The tabletop model allows the user to collect shredded material in a 5.3 liter drawer. The drawer is easy to remove when it is full. The trolley version is equipped with an infrared detection system that notifies the user via the display when the collector is full and needs to be emptied. The 25 liter collector is accessible through a clear polycarbonate door on the front of the shredder trolley.
The MediaGone 500 features hardened carbon steel blades and a high-torque, non-slip drive. The shredder can nevertheless be used in any office environment via a standard 230V power connection. Thermal sensors protect the shredder's drive train from failure or damage. The shredder is also equipped with an emergency stop and a safety lock with key.
