DD Imager (barcode scanner included)

Integrating seamlessly with Verity's Data Destruction Auditor software, the new DD Imager (barcode scanner included) provides operators the option to catalog their hard drive destruction efforts using an image capture device. This integration works with a selection of their hard drive destruction units including the DataGauss LG Max and DataGone LG Plus.

Along with the barcode scanner and optional label printer (not included), operators can fully scan and document each hard drive that is processed for destruction. This new integration enables businesses to catalog their destruction efforts from beginning to end during the cycle of data removal.

With businesses increasingly looking for a way to audit their data destruction efforts, the new DD Imager works with the latest version of Verity Systems' Data Destruction Auditor which can be downloaded here.

For low and high volume operators, data destruction certificates can also be produced through an optional label printer (not included) which connects via the software to print completed reports. It is also possible to export CSV files with all the details filled out of each hard disk successfully processed and erased via the Data Destruction Auditor dashboard.

Product Details

The Verity DataGauss XL-LG is a state-of-the-art Pulse Technology degausser with an extra large degaussing chamber to accommodate both standard and extra large (full height) Hard Disk Drives and Backup Tapes AND a unique Erasure Log Software which provides a reporting tool and a record of media degaussed. Perfect for 3.5, 2.5 & 1.8 hard drives 5000 Oe. Longitudinal & perpendicular recording. DLT, S-DLT, LTO1,2,3,4 & 5; 3480/3490/3490e, 3590, 9840 & T9940 & T10000 tape; Ultrium & Redwood SD-3 tape & cartridges; Mammoth 1 & 2, 8mm, AIT1 & 2,M2 tape; DDS 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, DD-2 & DFT-1 & 2.

The DataGauss XL-LG is the most powerful, compact, continuous degausser for Hard Drives and Backup Tapes in the Verity range. Media that can be securely erased includes both Hard Drives that use Perpendicular and Longitudinal recording techniques up to 5000 Oersted's and all common Backup Tapes. Storage devices up to 6.5" x 1.625" x 4.5" (165mm x 42mm x 114mm) can be securely erased.

Operation - The DataGauss XL-LG is a table top, chamber degausser, which makes operation safe, effective and simple for everyone. It can be used stand alone or, if connected to a PC or laptop via USB cable, can be used in conjunction with the Erasure Log Software. This will log all the information related to the erasure and provide a printed report if required. The information logged includes details of the: processing company (including the operator and supervisor); media owner; degausser machine type; serial number, part number and size of the Hard Drive or Tape. Information is entered onto the software via keyboard or optional barcode scanner to speed up the data entry if required. When the logging program has been opened on the PC and the DataGauss XL-LG is connected, the operator simply clicks on the "Find Machine" button for all the unit details to be automatically entered into the log including model, serial number and firmware version. The DataGauss XL-LG display will show it is in remote mode controlled by the PC.

Further data regarding operator, customer and media is then entered via keyboard (or optional barcode scanner) before the Hard Drive or Tape is placed into the degausser and the lid closed. The erasure is commenced by clicking the "Destroy" button on the screen which activates the charging of the powerful degaussing magnetic field (9,000 Gauss). A window opens on the screen showing the progress of the degaussing cycle. When the display shows the degauss cycle is complete the lid can be opened and the media removed. The entire process takes just 45 seconds. Throughout the whole erase cycle the on-board processor monitors the erase procedure ensuring that it is completed correctly. The operator is immediately alerted to any interruptions in the cycle by messages on the screen.

Optional extra - Verity has introduced the DD Imager (sold separately), a new hardware solution that integrates seamlessly with their Data Destruction Auditor software. This combination offers a comprehensive solution for tracking hard drive destruction efforts. Using the barcode scanner that comes with the DD Imager, this system can efficiently document each destroyed hard drive and is compatible with selected destruction units such as the Crunch 250, DataGauss LG Max, and DataGone LG Plus. It's an ideal system for businesses that require auditable data destruction processes. For low and high volume operators, data destruction certificates can also be produced through an optional label printer (not included) which connects via the software to print completed reports. To see the DD Imager in action, see the demo video here.
