Only in combination with the Feed Conveyor for automated recording of serial numbers of SSD’s and HDD’s

• Operator puts 15 HDD´s on the feed conveyor and starts the shredding process
• Conveyor automatically moves one HDD below the camera / scanner unit
• Unit takes a photo and saves it into a folder on customer´s laptop computer
• Scanner simultaneously scans the HDD´s barcodes and saves them in a txt-file on customer´s laptop computer
• Conveyor then moves the HDD further and finally drops it directly into the shredder
• After taking the picture and scan of the barcodes and on the way into the shredder there is no access to the HDD possible any more

3.5” HDD on the conveyor. HDD must be put onto the conveyor with the barcode sticker on the upper side. Orientation of the HDD does not matter. Photo of the HDD is saved in a folder of customer´s laptop computer. Thus nonbarcode-based information can be retrieved and saved if necessary. Also, if barcode reading should not work because of damage to the barcode, plain text serial-no. can be read from the photo. Read barcodes are saved in a txt-file on customer´s computer. From there they can be copied and pasted into shredding record documents.
